Our Reason

Our reason is KAYLA.
And our mission is HOPE.

Kayla Brooke Lehmann was a beautiful soul — a gifted writer, a passionate violinist, a thrill-seeker, and a fierce friend. Born in 2003, Kayla touched countless lives with her laughter, her creativity, and her ability to see the best in others. She loved music, books, and her family deeply. Her bond with her sister was unbreakable, and her compassion for others was unmatched.

In 2017, Kayla was diagnosed with severe depression. Like many, she struggled with the weight of an invisible illness — one that often carries silence, misunderstanding, and stigma. Kayla was known for helping others, but had difficulty accepting help herself. Tragically, she died by suicide in 2018.

We created Kayla’s Hope Foundation to honor her life, her dreams, and her unwavering kindness. But more importantly, we created it for those who are still here. For the ones who feel like no one understands. For the ones who hide their sadness. For those walking a similar path to the one Kayla walked.

May Kayla’s Hope reach others who may be walking her walk and allow them to know that they matter. We aim to:

  • Raise awareness about the realities of mental illness.
  • Fight the stigma that prevents too many from speaking up or seeking help.
  • Provide resources, education, and compassion to those in need.
  • Remind every person struggling that they matter, they are not alone, and there is help.

Kayla’s light continues to shine through this mission. We carry her spirit forward in every life we touch — with love, with honesty, and with hope.
